There is no good reason for a busy mom to go dragging out the sewing machine and go scouting for costume patterns.
The do-it-yourself costume using items lying around the house is highly over-rated. Give yourself and the glue gun a rest and don't risk baby's costume falling apart before Trick or Treat is finished. Modern infant costumes are cheap when you consider how many hours it takes to sew your baby a respectable costume! Who wants to try and sew their own baby porcupine costume when you can buy one for a few dollars?
For the infant not yet able to walk, a baby bunting costume design is an excellent choice. If the night is chilly as well as spooky, there's room for extra layers along with super absorbent diapers inside the costume. Some bunting baby Halloween costumes have an attached hood and others may have a matching cap. I have always found that one piece baby items are easy to keep up with. Somehow mittens, caps and booties end up without their partner!
Infant black cat costumes are easy to assemble with very little more than a cute nose and whiskers painted on with baby safe face paint and an infant's black leotard. Attach a stuffed kitty cat's tale and your outfit is complete! You can convert the kitten costume into a baby skunk costume with the easy application of a white stripe!
Baby monkey costumes are easy to make and you can choose from the sock monkey, organ grinder or cheeky monkey variety.
No matter what customs, themes or traditions that you observe on Halloween there is a cute choice for your child. Many have coordinating adult costumes so that you can play dress up with your babies!
