Bird Themed Nursery

I absolutely love how this nursery came together for my baby girl. I used an unexpected baby blue and orange palette instead of the traditional pinks and yellows you often see in bird-themed rooms. The soft blue walls create a peaceful backdrop, while warm orange accents in the bedding, artwork, ribbons, and floral branches add energy without overwhelming the space. It feels fresh, cheerful, and sophisticated all at once.

The hand-painted bird mural immediately becomes the room's focal point. Delicate tree branches stretch across the wall with colorful songbirds perched among the leaves, creating the feeling of looking into a peaceful garden through a nursery window. Rather than relying on cartoon characters, this design takes its inspiration from nature, giving the room a timeless look that can easily grow with a child.

I also like how the white crib keeps the room feeling bright while allowing the mural to remain the star of the design. To start, I found a set of blue, white and orange bird baby bedding that had those colors and things just took off from there. The most visible splash of bright, orange in the room is found in the custom roman shades that we decorated with pom pom fringe for fun.

Although most of the decorations in the baby's bird themed nursery are blue and orange, I also picked up some of the green color from the crib bumper as well.

The wall shelves give us a place where we can display cute decorations and give the wall painting a 3D look that is more interesting and eye-catching than it might have been otherwise.

Tree Wall Mural Stickers

The fabric of the bumper pad has birds on it so I decided to decorate the nursery walls by painting a tree wall mural with birds with shelves tucked into its branches. Using decals might have been easier but I prefer the original painting.
