Baby is Coming Home to a Lavender Nursery Filled with Owls, Squirrels and Hedgehogs

Our baby is coming home to a white, gray and lavender nursery filled with owls, squirrels and hedgehogs; woodland creatures are everywhere in her forest themed room. Purple is my favorite color but I didn't want to over-use it since I wanted to decorate the nursery in soft colors.

Owl Nursery Theme Ideas


The color combinations that the plum or purple baby bedding sets that I found (as much as I love the color) were not what I had in mind. But when I saw this cute set; I knew that I had found "the one".

Nursery Rugs

The braided area rug that I chose for the area in front of the crib features the same soft colors that I love in the bedding.



Unlike the old-fashioned braided rugs; this one will be easy to keep clean.

Comfortable Nursery Chair with Great Back Support

The comfortable chair that I bought is very comfortable and supports my back which is very important since I have plans to spend many hours snuggling with my daughter there.



Then, I can reupholster it and use it for use in another room of the house after it is no longer needed in the nursery. That being said; I hope that time will be many years away.

In addition to my choice of nursery colors, I felt that a forest themed nursery that featured more than one woodland creature would be more interesting than one with just one animal or bird although I came very close to choosing deer bedding over the one in the picture.
