Hunter sounded like a good southern baby boy's name. We chose Bradley as the middle name because it is my wife's maiden name and we thought the two names sounded very nice together.

You are so right! Hunter is a very popular southern baby boys' name. I would imagine that this is because hunting and fishing are both one very popular hobbies of southerners. It is not unusual for both mom and dad (and often grandmothers and grandfathers) to both be expert hunters and to know a thing or two about catching a fine mess of fish.
I really like this southern baby boy's name used in combination with his mother's maiden name. To honor the maternal family name is a fine tradition no matter where you are located in regards to the Mason Dixon Line.
