White Nursery Decor for My Baby Boy

I went with pale yellow and white nursery decor for my baby boy because I had always dreamed of a solid white nursery and crib bedding set whether I had a girl or a boy.


When we got the news that we were having a baby boy, using white baby bedding became even more important to me.

I knew when I became pregnant that this might be my only chance to decorate the nursery in white eyelet lace and ruffles.

My husband and I painted the walls of the nursery a soft shade of yellow and installed a slightly higher than normal chair rail that we painted white to match the crown and shoe molding. The reason we hung the molding higher than is normal for chair rails was that we realized that if it were installed at the usual height it would be practically invisible. The stenciled designs and the wooden molding itself is more attractive even though it's higher than average.

The bookshelf was pretty shabby, but looks nice and fits in with my concept of white nursery decor for my baby boy especially after we applied a few coats of white paint and arranged square baskets on the shelves to use as storage. Later on we will store our son's toys or art supplies in the baskets and perhaps some storybooks.

The round wood crib with the canopy and white baby bedding is the highlight of the nursery. The round bed actually fit in the space better than any other crib we considered.

I know that when our son is born that our yellow and white nursery decor and crib bedding set will be a challenge to keep clean but that is alright by us.
