The vintage 1950s baby nursery ideas for a baby boy's room will be a theme any Dad who loves vintage cars will love. The decor will inspire a mom-to-be that has watched "Grease" more than once (ten times?) to pull out her poodle skirt and dad to slick his hair back.
Warning! When you're finished decorating, the urge to "bop till you drop" may be overwhelming.
There are lots of great 1950s nursery themes for baby boys that I want to try but today I'm decorating a baby boy nursery whose family is into racing and collecting vintage cars.
A unique, vintage car ceiling mobile in the baby's room gives me an opportunity to bring in some bright colors that will grab visitors attention the minute they enter the room.
This is my all-time favorite of all the vintage 1950s baby nursery ideas I have on my design board. Since the baby bedding set had a touch of bright yellow; this yellow dragster was just the ticket.
It really stands out against the yellow and gray painted stripes on the nursery wall. Suspending a car themed mobile from the ceiling will free up precious space on shelves and tabletops that will be needed for necessities. Plus, I like to have something "different and unexpected" in my projects that stands out from the usual stuff you find in stores.
The mom-to-be told me that she couldn't afford to replace the white blinds that had been recently installed in the room when it was last decorated to be the guest room.
This black and white checkered flag caught my eye on a quick trip to the party supply store to pick up napkins for a baby shower. All that will be needed to transform the bunting into a budget friendly (read: cheap) window valance will be some inexpensive brackets from the hardware department of my local discount store.
Vintage Cars Nursery Wall Decorations
There are so many 1950s cars wall stickers and the parents might decided to add one later.
Since Mom is tight on money; why buy framed art and decals when there is a pile of vintage hubcaps in the garage? If this collection had not been available, there are wonderfully realistic hubcap decals that look (almost) as cool as the real thing for sale OR you can visit a junk or salvage yard near you to see what they have. Don't be put off by the layers oil and grime but watch for deep scratches and dents.
Expect to spend some time cleaning and polishing the chrome to bring it up to snuff before putting the arrangement together. With some determination, detergent and chrome polish; this one-of-a-kind display will be a knockout!
Note how the accent colors peek through the cutouts in the chrome wheels. They are super on their own but when it's so easy; why not go for spectacular?
I hope that visitors to Unique Baby Gear Ideas enjoy the vintage 1950s baby nursery ideas on this inspiration board.
