Modern Baby Girl Nursery Decorating Ideas

I realize that I am "different" but my file of modern baby girl nursery decorating ideas does not include the first picture of frilly, pink baby bedding. Unfortunately my mom believes that there are only two acceptable color schemes for baby rooms, pink and white for girls and baby blue for boys.



There is a lot of drama happening in the family because I don't want an old fashioned nursery.

I simply refuse to decorate the space so that it looks like a picture that came out of a 1960 Home and Garden magazine!

My mother, sister and I went out to the stores to register yesterday and they had a hissy because I didn't have much pink stuff on my baby registry.

Then last night my husband and I were having a discussion and he indicated that he agreed (carefully and cautiously) with my mom and sister and would like for the baby's room to have at least some pink in the color scheme and that he felt my need to be rebellious was behind my decorative decisions. He said he feels that I am making the choices that I am because I want to go against tradition rather than because I like modern baby bedding and better than old fashioned ones.

After sleeping on it, I have decided to give in and let him have his way with a pink baby nursery design because up until this point I've made most of the major decisions from choosing the baby's name which is much more important to me than choosing the nursery theme for our baby girl's nursery.

Can you please give me some examples that are not so pink that I want to throw up?
