When hunting parents choose a baby nursery theme, rustic style often feels like a natural fit. Outdoors-loving moms and dads can bring their love of hunting, fishing and the woods into the room with natural materials, wildlife details and handmade decor.

Adrienne and her husband did exactly that. They are experienced hunters and talented DIYers who created much of their son's hunting-themed nursery themselves, including decorations and a one-of-a-kind crib made with natural wood and deer antlers gathered from the places they hunt.

Using a combination of hunting camouflage, deer antlers and rustic wood, Adrienne and her husband created a unique room with a crib that looks right at home in its woodland setting.

Jace's dad has a real talent for woodworking, and this handmade crib is a standout feature of the room. If you are considering building a crib yourself, always follow current safety standards and a properly designed baby crib plan.



The crib was made with natural wood from the forest where Mom and Dad hunt. The Mossy Oak camo baby bedding fits naturally into this rustic baby boy nursery theme.



For this family, hunting and a love of the outdoors are traditions they hope to share with their child as he grows. It may not be long before this little hunter has outdoor stories and keepsakes of his own to display.



Adrienne got the idea for the antler name letters after seeing decorative letters at Hobby Lobby. She showed her husband the look she had in mind, and he worked out his own design and made them for Jace's nursery.

Adrienne added another handmade touch by displaying Jace's newborn portrait on a natural wood slice beneath his name.

The camouflage photo props, crochet hat and diaper cover, rustic background and bow all carry the hunting theme into Jace's first portrait.

Mom also designed the camouflage crib set and much of the nursery decor herself.

The crib bedding, nursery curtains and rocking chair cushions were all custom made with Mossy Oak Break-Up camouflage fabric, giving the room a coordinated outdoors look without relying entirely on store-bought decor.

One of the few decorations in the room that was not handmade is a hunting-themed wall decal that reflects how important the outdoors is to this family.
