Solar System Ceiling Light with Revolving Planets for a Planet Baby Nursery or Kids' Room Theme

The dad that designed this solar system ceiling light for his baby's nursery is an aerospace engineer (read: "a rocket scientist"). He wanted to share his love of space with our kids from the very beginning.

The babies who occupy this nursery are certainly the center of our universe.

This ceiling mobile is one of our favorite features of the planet themed nursery.

As you can see, the details of the planets that orbit the sun are clear and colorful. Saturn with its rings and bright colors are probably my favorite.

Over the baby's crib, we hung a planet themed mobile from Ikea that has a planet with rings, a rocket and an array of clear plastic stars.

In addition to the ceiling light with all the planets, we scattered glow in the dark stars all around the light fixture so that the model seems to be the center of the universe.

Kids of all ages enjoy looking at this cute, educational ceiling light!

From the webmaster:

This ceiling light fixture would look great with some solar system decals and a set of kids outer space bedding!

Planets Ceiling Light
by: Sonja

I'm not sure about the one the dad designed but I saw one for sale online with an electric light. As best I could tell the planets orbiting the light are operated by batteries. The kit includes a remote control and light pointer.

Question
by: Brandon

This may be a dumb question, but is the light powered by the normal electricity?
