Where can a DIY er buy a mattress frame for a handmade crib for babies? I have plans to build a crib for a grandchild that is expected soon.

What I'm looking for is the metal crib mattress frame that has the springs and supports the actual mattress.

I have seen metal crib mattress frames with springs for sale here before but I don't recommend using something that is already old on a homemade heirloom baby crib that will be used for generations. A new wooden frame that will last as long as the lovely DIY crib that you have plans to make.


Plus, those vintage metal crib mattress frames are even more expensive than the brand new wooden support frames.

You might find a used frame in a local thrift store but would they follow crib mattress safety guidelines?
