Suggestions for Where to Find Simmons Crib Mattress Support Hooks
by: Anonymous

The manufacturer’s official parts and warranty page states that you can order replacement parts by locating your crib’s model number and submitting a parts request form.

I did a little looking around on crib-parts/DIY sites using search terms like "Simmons crib mattress support hook", "crib spring support handle/hook Simmons", etc., and managed to turn up random listings. You should be very cautious as generic replacement parts may work, but you should verify compatibility.

Key compatibility & safety tips

Check the width, spacing, hook style (straight, "S"-shaped, notched end) and how it mounts (on the crib corner post bracket, or directly on the crib end panel) to ensure compatibility.

Make sure you have the correct model number (5306 94 117) and locate any manufacturer label on the crib to verify the exact series.

You haven't included a photo of the hardware in question but from your description it appears to be the little metal hook/handle that the mattress-spring frame rests on or gets hung from. The assembly manual excerpt from Simmons shows the "support handles" being driven into spring clips and then hung on the bracket/hook level.

Because this is vintage hardware, generic hooks might fit physically but might not provide the same safety / structural integrity so...proceed with extreme caution and never take chances. Always ensure there are no missing parts, hardware is not severely worn or bent, and the crib meets current safety standards.

If your crib is quite old, consider whether the mattress-support system is still safe to use — springs may sag, brackets may be loose or corroded. If you can’t find exact replacements, you may need to fabricate or use a universal hook set (with caution) or consult a professional which I am not.

I need 2 of these exact hooks. Pulled our baby bed out of attic for first grandchild and missing 2 hooks! Can't find them anywhere. Any suggestions?
