Initially, we thought that all it would take to design a nursery in this theme would be to take a cowboy themed crib set and replace the masculine colors with girly pink but it was more challenging than that.

How We Decorated Step-by-Step



After we had the perfect baby bedding set picked out for our pink and brown nursery, we started to decorate the nursery walls with a girl hand painted cream and brown cow print border.

After we had the border painted, we attached grass rope to separate the border from the solid pink color on the upper portion of the nursery walls and the chocolate brown color at the bottom. Using the rope as a divider brought a neutral shade to anchor our baby nursery theme and serve as a divider between the decorative painting technique and the solid colors.

As a finishing touch, we spelled out our baby girl's name using painted wooden wall letters over her bed.

A friend of mine who is a champion in barrel racing bought the same cowgirl baby bedding set for her baby girl secondhand. I have seen it in person and not only did she get the deal of the century; it is so cute! The horse print fabrics and the pink horseshoes are just perfect for a baby girl born into a family who loves horses.
