Screws for a Pali 0421 Crib

The good news is that the Pali crib company that manufactured your 0421 model crib is still in business and has an official crib parts and instructions manuals section:

Order parts (Pali Design):

Order Pali Crib Instruction manuals:

Customer service / contact:

On their order-parts page, Pali states that hardware packs are officially only guaranteed for cribs produced in 2018 and later, but they still ask you to email them the details; they may at least give you dimensions, a scan of the hardware sheet, or a manual even if they don’t have a full kit for such an old model.

Get ready for sticker shock...their parts look pricey to me!

When you contact them, include:

Model: Pali Susan Rocking Crib #0421

Manufacture date (often on the label under the crib; many Susan cribs were made in the mid-1990s).

A photo of the round cam screw/bolt you’re missing

The finish or color of the crib you are assembling.

Your shipping address and phone

Ask specifically for:

"A copy of the assembly instructions/parts diagram or owners' manual for the Pali Susan Rocking Crib model 0421 and specs or replacements for the round cam screws used in the side/rail connections."

Even if they can’t sell you a kit, working with the company is your best shot for an accurate diagram.

What to do if Pali can’t or won't send you the parts

Because the Susan 0421 is an older rocking crib (mid-1990s), there may not be any OEM hardware kits left in stock. In that case, you’re basically trying to match the cam-lock system using generic furniture hardware.

a. Identify the cam screw type

The "round cam screws" are typically a 2-piece cam connector:

A round cam (a little disc that lives in the wood and turns with a screwdriver)

A cam screw/bolt (the long piece that threads into the other panel and locks into the round cam)

You’ll want to:

Measure the diameter of the cam screw threads (often metric, commonly M6 or similar)

Measure the overall length of the screw from the underside of the head to the tip

Note the head style (flat, hex, or combo)

Measure the diameter and thickness of the round cam itself and the size of the hole it drops into

If you still have at least one original screw + cam, take it (or very clear photos + measurements) to:

Your local hardware store, or

A woodworking/hardware specialist, or you might check with

Online sellers by searching terms like

"cam connector bolt"

"cam lock screw M6"

"furniture cam and dowel fastener"

Then you can match them by size and style.

⚠️ Very important: whatever you choose must match length and diameter closely so the rails and mattress support are pulled together firmly and safely. If in doubt, don’t improvise on a crib that will be used for sleeping — see the safety note below.

Safety reminder (especially for older rocking / drop-side cribs)

Since the Susan 0421 is an older Pali designfrom the 1990s, it may have features (rocking base, older hardware, possibly moveable sides) that pre-date current safety standards. The U.S. CPSC banned traditional drop-side cribs in 2011 and tightened hardware and structural requirements for all cribs.

Because of that:

Do not use makeshift or undersized screws or cams.

If you can’t restore the crib to original structural integrity or if it's been recalled, it’s safer to retire it from sleep use and repurpose it as a piece of non-sleeping use furniture like a nice bench rather than using it as a crib.
