HANNAH'S GREEN and PINK NURSERY PICTURES

You probably can’t tell from looking at Hannah’s pink and green nursery pictures, but decorating this baby girl’s room took much more planning than I expected. It began one night when I imagined how I might arrange two adjoining bedrooms if I were having twins.

My idea was to remove the wall between the rooms and create one large, open nursery. Each baby would have a separate sleeping area, but the connected spaces would still function as one room. We loved the idea of having such a spacious nursery, so we decided to continue with the renovation even after learning that we were expecting one baby.

At 16 weeks, we found out for certain that our baby was a girl. I was absolutely tickled because I could finally use the pink and green decorating ideas I had been collecting. The combination felt fresh, cheerful and feminine without making the entire room overwhelmingly pink. I found even more inspiration among these baby girl nursery ideas and began adapting the look for Hannah’s unusually large space.

After removing the wall, we installed white beadboard paneling and painted the upper walls a warm, clear pink. The green was soft enough to feel restful, while the pink brought warmth and personality to the nursery.

To make the color palette feel intentional, I repeated both shades throughout the room. A white crib stood against the pink wall with mint green bedding accents, while a comfortable upholstered chair created a quiet feeding corner nearby. Pink and green patterned curtains framed the windows, and a coordinating area rug helped unite the two sides of the nursery. White furniture kept the brighter colors balanced and prevented the large room from feeling busy.

The generous floor space allowed us to create separate areas for sleeping, changing, feeding and play. Instead of filling every open corner, I left enough breathing room around the furniture so the beadboard, painted trim and architectural details could be appreciated. This made the nursery feel polished and inviting while still being practical for everyday life with a baby.
