Detroit Tigers Baby Baseball Nursery Decor

We knew that our son had to have a Detroit Tigers baby baseball nursery theme the moment we found out that we were expecting. We are huge Detroit Tigers fans and will be having a baby boy in October so we had to get started!

We love the sport and the Tigers and we thought we'd share some photos of our DIY baseball decorating project and crafts.

Our goal is to inspire other fans of the game that are working on their nursery to jump in and support their team!

We made designated one of the walls as the "sports memorabilia wall" where we put autographed and collectors' items on the shelves.

All of the decorations that you see in the pictures are licensed Detroit Tigers' items including the rugs, baseball wall decals, the fabric we used for the baby's baseball baby bedding, his security blanket, clothing, pennant, garbage can and bobblehead.

One of the biggest decorative pieces is the giant Justin Verlander Fathead wall sticker that you see on the wall by the door. There are several smaller fatheads that came with the purchase of the large decal.

In addition to the licensed items that went into decorating our baby baseball nursery theme, a lot of decorations were handcrafted.

Some of the handmade items include a home plate plaque with Landon’s name on it, the wall letters spelling out his name above his crib, the baseball crib mobile, the Tigers blanket in the crib and the fluffy, white clouds on the ceiling were all personal mommy and daddy touches.

People have asked a lot about we made the clouds on the ceiling so I want to mention that we cut the clouds out of batting and fluffed them into cloud shapes and then used an adhesive to attach them to the ceiling.

The final decorative touches that we added in the room are the navy blue and orange curtains and decorative accents. Only navy and orange would do since those are Detroit Tigers colors!

I hope that Unique Baby Gear Ideas' visitors have enjoyed seeing our baby boy's nursery pictures, and we can’t wait for Landon to arrive so that he can enjoy it too!

My ceilings are fairly textured and I wanted to do the clouds on the ceiling. What type of adhesive did you use?
