Boyds Bear Baby Bedding

I found a Boyds Bear baby bedding set a few years ago and said that if I ever had a baby boy of my own that I wanted that exact crib set. When my pregnancy was confirmed I was sad to learn that the set had been discontinued when I got ready to decorate the nursery.

I had thought that all I would have to do is log onto to the Boyds Bears website and send in my order....WRONG! There was not the first set of baby bedding available on their website. Apparently the collection has been retired.

The only choices left to me was to have a set made or to buy used. Since I couldn't find any soft blue and yellow Boyds Bear fabric, making the baby bedding myself was impossible. So, I started to shop for a different set of bear bedding that was similar to Boyd's Bear.



It took several months, but I found a set that I like nearly as much as I did the other set of Boyds Bear baby bedding and it fits very well with my teddy bear collect.

The bedding and fitted crib sheets (with pictures of the sun, moon and stars on it) came with matching accessories and nursery decor including a lamp that has a wooden bear sitting on a moon, a musical crib mobile with four miniature teddy bears on it and a sleepy bear nursery rug!

The addition of handmade wall hangings and an authentic Boyds Bears Baby Mookins which is a cute bear dressed as a cow, sitting on a moon completed the look. The theme became a twist on the "cow jumped over the moon" nursery rhyme.

I love the print of the fitted crib sheet and matching crib quilt. The baby is oblivious to everything other than the musical wall art set.

The only thing that I lack finding is a pair of curtain panels but things are shaping up very nicely.

I hope that one of the moms or dads that visit Unique Baby Gear Ideas will suggest whether solid baby blue or yellow curtains or would fabric with a light blue background and tiny stars work with the crib set that is being used in my Boyds Bear nursery theme since I can't find an exact match?
