Custom black white and red baby crib bedding and nursery decor

The black, white and red nursery bedding set that you see in the pictures served as the decorative foundation for our baby boy or girl's nursery. The color scheme for our baby's room was based on the high contrast pattern of the fabric and the baby bedding.

Even before we knew the sex of the baby we wanted a really hip, modern nursery design that would work for either gender and with that goal in mind, we went shopping for black and white baby bedding and to pick up some ideas on an accent color.

We even considered having the crib set made because we weren't sure that we could find a set in the stores that would fit with our very modern Unique Baby Gear Ideas that we had in mind. When we found this beautiful organic baby bedding collection we knew that our baby's room was going to be decked out in black, white and red.

NURSERY WALL PAINT IDEAS

We are planning to paint the lower portion of the nursery wall in a bold Chinese red and to paint all of the wooden molding in the room black.

NURSERY WINDOW TREATMENTS

We bought fabric to make our own black and red curtains that will have a border of black, white and red stripes.

The crib set had a window valance available but we preferred to do something different for several reasons. One reason was that the baby's room has a large, oversized window that would have required that we buy as many as three of the matching window treatments and I would still have to have had curtain panels made for privacy. Plus, the curtains that we had made give the our black, white and red nursery a personalized look.

The colors in our decorating project are bright and bold and look very cool with the black crib and nursery furniture. We are really excited about seeing how the nursery's colors will turn out and are glad that even though we didn't have our baby bedding custom made that there is not another baby's room anywhere that is just like it.

It seems that in every article I read about how to decorate a nursery the suggestion is to find a set of baby bedding first and this is some of the best advice I've found! There's still a lot that we have left to do before the baby is born, but the pressure is off and I give all the credit to this amazing set of black, white and red nursery bedding!

Red White and Black

Isn't this crib set amazing? It really stood out to us after seeing one yellow, green, pink and blue baby bedding set after another.

The collection has lots of coordinating accessories but we are decorating the baby's nursery with items that we bought separately.
