Beatrix Potter Baby Nursery Theme Hand Painted Custom Wall Mural
I painted the walls of our Beatrix Potter baby nursery theme a light shade of blue after sanding and applying spackling compound so that I would have a smooth, clean surface ready for the mural that I knew that I wanted to paint on the walls.
I tested several paint colors until I found one that was a perfect match for the fabric of our Beatrix Potter baby bedding.
After choosing my favorite pictures of Flopsy, Mopsy and Peter Cottontail from the Beatrix Potter storybooks, I chose the locations where I thought the artwork would look best and started to draw the basic outlines of the designs.
I used a color palette that closely resembled Miss Potter's illustrations because it was very important to me to maintain the feeling of sweetness and innocence of the watercolor paintings.
After I finished hand painting all the murals on the
nursery wall, we installed a new ceiling fan and my mother-in-law bought the fabric and made the window treatments.
I love this room and I hope that
Unique Baby Gear Ideas' visitors enjoy the pictures and my mural designs half as much as I enjoyed painting them.
