Last week I got down to business on the details of our
baby's tropical fish nursery decor. To save both time and money, I had hoped to avoid painting the entire room. since the walls were already painted light green and blue, I added some pops of red and the basic layout of our baby girl's nursery had begun!
My friend, Megan, had given me a cute crib bumper that included my colors of red, blue, and green that looked so lovely in our white baby bed that I made the decision to stay true to that color palette when decorating the rest of the baby's room.
The next step was to buy a bright, red changing table cover, a red, fitted crib sheet and a new changing pad. Then to move us closer to the fish nursery decor that I had dreamed of I decorated the wall over the changing table with a red, black and white tropical fish that tied all the decorative elements and areas of the tropical fish nursery decor together beautifully. Then, I created and added a little teeny tiny bit of vinyl. Some decorators might be of the mind that I overdid it with the vinyl wall decorations, but is that really possible when the decals are this cute?
As you can see in the pictures of the baby's nursery we decorated the walls with red, blue, and white circles scattered randomly and added some birds to add interest. Then over the baby's crib, I added a tree design using various sizes of vinyl wall circles to give shape to the branches. After our baby girl is born, we will put her name inside the large circle at the top of the tree, until then we are keeping her name a secret!
