The joy of motherhood begins at the moment the pregnancy is confirmed; you can quote me on that! From the time the baby announcement is made until the time of delivery, along with the many unique aches, pains and discomforts there are moments of pure delight in knowing that a mom will never be alone again.
I will never forget, waiting and wondering for what seemed like forever when I would feel the baby kick only to be in total awe when I felt the gentle flutter in my tummy. The resounding kick of a tiny foot would come much later and was surprising in a completely new and different way; my baby is strong, healthy and alive hopefully as excited to meet her mom and dad as we are to make her acquaintance.
My hospital bag is ready and waiting by the front door packed with all of the necessities and a special outfit for her to wear home.
We tried so long to conceive this little miracle and it was frustrating and difficult but the impatience I am feeling right now wanting to hold my precious child in my arms, close to my heart is difficult in different and yes, delightful way.
