Pink and White Butterfly Baby Shower for a Baby Girl
by Jan
A pink and white butterfly baby shower for a baby girl in the spring was such a pretty thing to put together. I’ve been completely taken with banners, tissue paper pom poms, and accordion lanterns lately, so decorating for this shower felt especially fun.
Planning a shower for a friend who is expecting a baby girl in the spring really is a delight. The chance to decorate for a little girl gives you so much room to play with color, texture, and sweet details, and this party was a lovely example of how thoughtful baby shower ideas can come together beautifully for a special day.
Butterfly Baby ShowerThe tissue paper pom poms in shades ranging from hot pink to pastel pink and white were just a few of the Pinterest-inspired crafts I made for the party.
This girly tricycle diaper cake had ribbons and bows in colors that matched the rest of my decorations, and I know the mom-to-be appreciated the 50 disposable diapers tucked into the trike’s wheels. I also loved how the dessert side of the setup came together, and browsing these
baby shower cake ideas is a great way to gather inspiration for cupcakes, sweets, and centerpiece desserts that fit the theme.
While I was pinning party decorations and gathering inspiration for girl baby shower themes, I also came across a sweet berry punch recipe in the prettiest shade of pink.
A pink satin ribbon tied in a bow decorated the glass jar holding the punch, ready to mix and serve.
Now for my favorite part: dessert.
The fondant butterflies were not only homemade, but delicious and edible too. A friend helped me make them, and they were so easy and fun to create that we actually made more than we needed.
But never fear — I found an excellent use for the extras. The fondant butterflies left over from the baby shower were later used to decorate purple cupcakes for a special little girl’s birthday.
These cupcakes had royal purple frosting, edible pearls, and cute tags in party hat shapes and scalloped party circles made using Stampin Up software, a Cricut, punches, and wooden toothpicks.
I have a feeling I’m just getting started putting my own creative spin on the many ideas I find on Pinterest. I’m always excited to see what project comes next.
I hope you enjoyed these baby shower pictures as much as I enjoyed sharing them.
