Neutral Boy and Girl Twin Nursery

Elegant neutral boy and girl twins nursery design in beige, brown, tan and antique white

I am thrilled with this neutral boy and girl twin nursery design. We wanted the room to feel elegant and coordinated without making both sides identical, so we used a soft taupe and white color scheme with small touches of pink and blue for each baby.

We added a chair rail halfway up the walls, painting the lower half taupe and the upper half white. The Bratt Decor cribs were Craigslist finds, while the dresser and side table were older pieces that I painted, distressed and updated with new hardware. The custom bedding features ivory satin bedskirts and bumpers, with pink and ivory ruffles for the girl and blue and ivory details for the boy.

Even though we wanted a neutral boy and girl twin nursery design, I gave each baby a little individuality with framed silhouettes in baby blue and pink above the cribs. Their monograms were embroidered on the bedding, and the frames were painted to coordinate with the taupe lower walls. An ivory ribbon ties the artwork back to the neutral bedding, while the nursery rug and chandelier from Ballard Designs finish the room.
