Morigeau Lepine 455 Crib Screws and Assembly Instructions Manual

I am looking for some Morgeau Lepine 455 crib screws and assembly instructions manual. If I cannot find some replacement parts and an owner's manual for this crib we will have to trash it and that is a real shame since it is a very nice, sturdy piece of nursery furniture.

Go here to see screws or replacement parts available for your Model 455 Morigeau Lepine crib.

I know the company went out of business but I have hope that someone might be able to direct me to a vendor that has some hardware for this this crib for sale or maybe share a copy of the crib's owner assembly instructions.

Unique Baby Gear Ideas hopes that our visitors will help Kathleen locate Morigeau Lepine 455 Crib Screws and Assembly Instructions Manual and consider emailing a copy to this website as well so that we can offer it to parents that are in need.

replacement parts for a Morigeau Lepine 455 Crib
by: Anonymous

I found some information on how to buy replacement parts for a Morigeau Lepine 455 crib that I am going to list for you. A copy of the Morigeau Lepine 455 crib assembly instructions manual in hand will be helpful for you to know what I am referring to if you are not a woodworker.

What I learned is that the type of fittings necessary for this crib's assembly are classified as KD or "knock-down" hardware, specifically, cam and dowel fittings.

The Morigeau Lepine 455 crib's assembly requires two sizes of these cam and dowel assemblies:

  • a 35mm cam with the associated size dowel
  • a 15mm cam with the associated size dowel

The 35mm cam and dowel replacement are a perfect fit for the 455 but the 15mm cam and dowel replacements will have to be modified to fit properly.

The 15mm cam is also a perfect fit but the dowel presents a problem.

The original dowel had a 6mm machine screw thread which screwed into an insert which then screws into the crib.

The dowel replacement has a wood screw thread, which will not screw into the machine screw insert.

That said, it may be possible to have a machine shop make a duplicate of the replacement dowel and then replace the wood screw thread with a 6mm machine screw thread which will then properly screw into the machine screw insert.

If you want to try this (completely at your own risk. Myself and this website should be held harmless) you can buy the above-mentioned replacement cam and dowel assemblies from Woodworker's Supply (www.woodworker.com).

The catalog numbers on woodworker.com are:

  • 128-825: 35mm cam and dowel assembly
  • 866-497: 15mm cam
  • 866-504: 34mm dowel for the 15mm cam

The 34mm dowel for the 15mm cam is the part that must be rebuilt with a machine screw thread rather than the supplied wood screw thread.

Good luck to everyone!
