White and Red Polka Dots Fire Truck Fireman Theme Baby Nursery Theme

My husband and I made the decision not to use a traditional set of fireman baby bedding for our son's baby fire truck nursery theme. Marcus' dad and I decided to do something unexpected and chose a pretty red and white polka dot crib set.

The red polka dots fell right in line with our vision for the room because the colors look great with the toy fire truck that is patiently waiting under the nursery window. It is just waiting for the day that our baby boy is ready to enjoy the fun that his rider has to offer.

But it is by no means covered in pictures of firemen, Dalmations or fire trucks. In fact, one of the nursery pics has a gorgeous Weimeraner guarding the nursery rather than a traditional firehouse puppy dog.

Fire Truck Baby Bedding

Baby blue wall paint explores the other side of the color wheel and leaves no doubt that this is a space intended for a baby boy. The colorful banners flying overhead that were left over from the baby shower provide a virtual smorgasbord of bright colors to catch baby's eye along with the birdy crib mobile.

The pretty bird baby mobile was made according to directions from the short lived Martha Stewart baby magazine using scrapbook paper. The owl nursery rug came from Garnet Hill and was received as a present from the baby shower.

Actually baby Marcus' room has more than one theme. The only reason the fire truck theme is dominant is because it ties into the bedding fabric so beautifully. But if you inspect the room further, you can spot vintage items like flashcards that decorate the walls, baby owl decorations, handmade paper birds and much more!

Notes from the Webmaster:
If mom's rosy toes and shoes from her wedding pictures are any indication, Marcus will be surrounded by warm shades of red and lots of eclectic creativity as he grows.
