Ladybugs are Red but the Baby's Nursery is Pink

A new mom wrote to me that wants to know if a ladybug theme nursery room for her baby girl would work if the wall paint color is pink. When I tried to picture decor with a red and pink color scheme in my mind, I didn't come up with much until I checked out a few crib bedding sets and then the ideas started to flow.


Take, for example, this set that has really large ladybug appliques on the crib quilt used as a wall hanging as well as the (controversial) bumper pad.

The nursery's pink walls and the red and black color of the fabric work pretty well together

As far as ladybug crib linens and nursery decor is concerned; this one is as bold as it gets!





This crib quilt features the cute little critters in pink and brown with the floral and stripes pattern adding a splash of red that is subtle but makes a statement and presents another color combination possibility.






There's nothing subtle but a LOT to love about hot pink ladybugs and black and white zebra print fabric.



I hope that the mom that wrote to Unique Baby Gear Ideas asking for advice will use this funky, modern design as inspiration for her room. It would be so much fun to decorate with wild animal print and ladybugs, don't you think?
