I am looking for a Kroll baby crib hardware replacement kit for an antique baby bed that is more than 40 years old. I specifically need replacement rods and other crib hardware parts needed to safely assemble the crib.

Kroll Baby Crib Hardware Replacement Kit

Does anyone know whether Kroll crib hardware is still available or if the company is still in business? Any information about replacement rods, bolts, springs, or compatible antique crib hardware sources would be greatly appreciated.

Because older crib hardware and moving components can weaken over time, it is important to carefully inspect antique cribs for worn parts, recalls, and outdated safety issues before attempting repairs or assembly.

Thank You

Thank you for the update. Since the crib was already second-hand 40 years ago, it may be difficult to identify the original manufacturer or locate exact replacement parts today. Older cribs often had custom hardware and many companies no longer stock those pieces.

Sometimes the best clues come from measurements, photos of the remaining hardware, spring frame markings, or unusual connection points. Antique stores, restoration shops, salvage yards, and online vintage hardware groups occasionally recognize older crib parts even when the manufacturer is unknown.

I hope you are eventually able to identify the missing pieces or find compatible replacement hardware for your vintage crib.

Chicago Baby Carriage Company Division of Kroll Bros.
by: Anonymous

Wasn’t the Chicago Baby Carriage Company connected to Kroll Brothers Furniture? Samuel Kroll reportedly held patents on several styles of baby carriages and cribs, so there may have been a connection between the companies at one time.

At this point, your best option may be to locate someone selling a similar vintage crib and see whether they would be willing to sell replacement hardware or part out the crib. Many older crib parts were manufacturer-specific, which makes exact replacements difficult to find decades later.

Good luck with your search, and hopefully someone with a similar Kroll or Chicago Baby Carriage crib will recognize the hardware you need.
