The free crochet baby sweater set pattern tutorial below includes individual patterns for a sweater, a hat (or cap?) and a pair of booties that will fit an infant that is approximately 6 months old.
The pattern calls for a crochet hook in Size 3.
Yarn requirements, if making the complete 3 piece set, are:
3 one ounce balls in pink or your choice of main color
1 ounce ball in blue or your choice of complementary accent color
Less would be required if making only the sacque, cap or the booties only.
The crocheted ties on the sweater, the booties and hat eliminate the need to purchase satin ribbons to use as closures.
The first segment of this baby sweater set crochet pattern is for the sweater or "sacque" which is just another name for a short jacket for an infant that is tied or fastened at the neck. This particular jacket has two crocheted ties positioned at the yoke.
We here at Unique Baby Gear Ideas do our best to make sure the free baby patterns contain no errors. However, if you try this project and find a mistake, please send us a message with the corrections that you feel need to be made in order for the layette to turn out as it should.
