Some of the Boba Baby carrier reviews that I’ve read indicate that the Boba Organic is a cool carrier for baby wearers that are located or that plan to visit very warm climates. This piqued my curiosity since I live in Mississippi where hot muggy weather is the norm from April right on through the fall.

I can tell you firsthand that wearing your baby here in the summer can be a sweaty endeavor. Moms around here know better than to venture into the hot sunshine with a black outfit or a black baby carrier. The black fabric seems to magnify the heat of the sun so a light colored carrier made of breathable cotton are essential to keep yourself and baby as cool as possible. I reserve my dark colored carriers and clothes for the cooler months so I asked Nap, Inc. to send me the pretty, bright green and brown organic carrier to review. On the day it arrived, the heat index was 105 so I felt that I made a wise choice.

My first impression was that the carrier is even cuter in person than it was in the pictures on the website and that the soft 100% natural cotton fabric was a good weight and very sturdy. The construction is everything that you might expect of a top of the line carrier.

Although the fabric is anything BUT thin; the breathable cotton allows cooling air to flow and keep baby cooler and more comfortable. Another reason that the Boba is a good carrier to take baby hiking or on a sightseeing trip is that it will easily accommodate a variety of body types. What this means is that another person (read: dad) can take turns carrying the baby without needing to pack extra carriers. And speaking of packing, it’s not a big and bulky and packs easily without taking up too much room in your suitcase or diaper bag.

BOBA BABY CARRYING POSITIONS

The Boba allows for both front and back carrying positions (the side or hip carry is not recommended since it is not ergonomic) and is designed to carry babies weighing between 15 and 45 pounds. The carrier has many comfort features important to infants and bigger children as well as the wearer and does a good job of distributing the baby’s weight so that you don’t wear out so fast.

MY FAVORITE FEATURES
Nursing mothers will find the hood that comes attached to the back of the carrier very helpful for discrete breastfeeding and for blocking the harmful rays of the sun when wearing the baby outdoors. One of the most popular features mentioned in Boba baby carrier reviews (and a favorite of mine) are the stirrup-like foot rests that attach to the carrier to support an older child’s legs. I like the idea that my baby girl’s legs will be supported. If they are left to dangle, some carriers will cut into them and leave marks.

HOW EASY IS THE BOBA TO USE?
The carrier allows both front and back carry positions and I found that putting the carrier on, putting baby inside and getting it comfortably adjusted is very easy and involves fewer steps than some models which may make it a good choice for those of you new to baby wearing. As an experienced baby wearer, I appreciate that it is comfortable, lightweight and its design keeps my child and I comfortable during the long walks that we love. Plus, it’s pretty affordable for a quality, organic carrier priced at $128 and I like that they are made right here in the USA.

Many parents prefer to buy baby products that are produced in the United States because they generate jobs here at home and because they trust American workers and companies to produce products that are safe to use.

Boba also sees the need to teach parents how to properly use their carriers and instructional videos on their website that demonstrates how to take the baby in and out of the carrier, how to use the hood and stirrups, how to adjust the carrier for front and back carry positions and how to nurse while your baby is in the Boba.

The bottom line is that Boba is a good carrier to take with you on vacation, hiking trips or to use for a quick walk to the store.
