Shabby chic twin nursey

My husband and I are having twins; a boy and a girl! After learning we would need nursery ideas that would be suitable for both we started to search for baby bedding sets that were neutral yet different.

Since every penny counts I had to be smart and thrifty. I incorporated antiques that we had on hand and found in thrift stores to get the look of a shabby chic nursery.

I bought the cribs (with the grey mist finish) mirror, crib bedding sets and woven off-white baskets for the twins nursery from restoration hardware at their 20% off sale!

I found an antique cart online that had metal drawers on the bottom that are the perfect size to hold the babies' diapering supplies!

I found a dresser and hutch that are painted in off white and grey Annie Sloane chalk paint and a pear green color chair at garage sales! I also bought a shopping cart that I lined with fabric to used as a hamper for their dirty clothes!

But we didn't come up with all of the shabby chic twin nursery ideas alone; my sister in law painted cute animal pictures on the wall that I never could have designed myself.

We made good use of a lot of old pieces and re-purposed them to fit into our twins nursery theme and save a lot of money without having to sacrifice the look we wanted!

We love the relaxing yet cozy feel of our babies nursery and hope that other moms and dads that stop by Unique Baby Gear Ideas will enjoy our decorating tips!
