Our Baby Girl's Small Pink and Black Punk Nursery

I knew before starting to decorate that I wanted to use a black and white damask pattern for our baby girl's small pink and black punk nursery design and that I wanted to pair it with a punk nursery theme that was still girly.


I started by selecting what I felt was the perfect wallpaper for an accent wall. Wallpaper was the the best choice for us since the nursery wall was plaster and I was afraid of causing problems by nailing into it so it worked out perfectly!

Next, I worked on selecting the right shade of pink. We ended up going with a pretty bold, hot pink paint color in order to pack a big punch in the small nursery.

Choosing the accessories for our pink nursery was probably the most fun I had during the decorating process. I matched a fur area rug, a crystal mirror and an elegant floor lamp in order to give the room a glamorous look.

Then, I carefully chose punk-themed posters and Japanese figures (each containing a handwritten note from a mother to her daughter) to give it the final touch with an edgy, urban feel.

Storage for the space was composed of tension rods for hanging clothes and a do-it-yourself cubicle with hot pink and black canvas containers. Since there was no door to the closet, we added a gathered valance that matched the window curtains and the black and white damask baby bedding set and used curtain tie backs to provide easy access.
