Immobilizer Kit for a Morigeau Lepine Crib

by Teri
(Northbrook, IL USA)

I need an immobilizer kit for a Morigeau Lepine crib. The drop side crib that I need to fix is a Lepine crib model 1096 with a manufacture date of April,1996.

From what I have learned; the company is now bankrupt and I can't get replacement parts or help of any kind from them.

Morigeau Lepine Crib Immobilizer Kits

The ideal way to deal with the drop side crib issue is to either buy a new crib if you can, use a play yard as a bed (a safe one that has not been recalled).

You might visit the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissions (CPSC) website to get more information on companies providing crib immobilization kits and recalls in general.

Only Use CPSC Kits and/or Devices

There are warnings against individuals trying to fix their drop-side crib using DIY methods. It's recommended that we only use immobilizers that have been approved and evaluated by the staff members of the CPSC for safety and for use with particular drop-side cribs of different brands.

Some parents continue to use these cribs against the advice of safety experts and feel that by not using the drop-side feature that they will be alright. Personally, the worry that I wasn't doing the best thing for my baby would keep me from taking this route.
