The free baby coat knitting pattern features a ribbon closure at the neck and will be adorable for the baby girl on your gift list. The instructions recommend a 3 ply fingering yarn in pink and white but feel free to substitute colors of your choice.
You will note that the garment will be worked in one piece up to the arm hole.

Yarn 3 ply fingering yarn
Yarn Requirements- 2 ounces pink (or your preference for a main color)
- 1 ounce white (or your preference in an accent color)
Needle Size Two Number 10 Size Knitting Needles

The stitches in this pattern, as you can see from the (rather poor?) photograph included in the original publication, create a unique and timeless texture that is perfect for a baby's winter coat.
Measurements
Measurement all round at underarm = 17 inches wide.
Measurement from the shoulder seam to the hem = 9 inches in lenght
Measurement of the sleeve seam = 5 inches long
Tension 8 stitches and 10 rows = 1 inch
