A Nature Themed Baby Nursery

by Joy Markwart
(Platte City, MO, USA)

I wanted a nature themed baby nursery that wasn't too girly, but girly enough. Since my baby girl's middle name was going to be Rose we wanted to decorate in a nurturing nature theme.

We painted the room a pastel color and then we found the perfect nursery furniture, Isabella collection in white, at Young America. Then we decorated the wall of the baby's room with a tree surrounded by the wildlife one would expect to find in a natural forest setting like squirrels, porcupines and birds. In addition to the forest animals and birds we added color through the use of flowers and colorful leaves on the tree.

If you aren't familiar with the Isabella collection; it's kind of shabby chic. In keeping with the style of the baby's furniture, we bought a pair of wall sconces that hold bird houses on them.

The letters of the baby's name are dangling off the wall and their color matches her bedding, which also has birds on it and various pastel colors along with brown and white polka dots.

A nature themed baby nursery nurtures by surrounding your child in a peaceful and calming atmosphere.

I hope that you will choose my entry in the nursery contest picture gallery and if you have any questions about any of my nursery ideas, please just ask and I'll do my best to answer.

Where are the pictures of the nursery? What pastel color did you paint the wall?
