How to Get Jenny Lind Hanging Cradle Hook Replacements
by: Anonymous

Since these cradles are often passed down or purchased second-hand finding parts can be hard.

Here are the most reliable ways (according to those who have tried and succeeded) to find them, starting with the best option:

1. Contact the Original Manufacturer (If Known)

Jenny Lind–style cradles were made by several different manufacturers over the years, so there isn’t one universal, one-size-fits-all "Jenny Lind" hook.
If you know the brand name from the cradle’s label or paperwork, I recommend reaching out to that manufacturer directly and asking for replacement cradle hooks or swinging hardware for your specific model.

If the brand isn’t listed, — that’s very common.

2. Compare Available Universal Cradle Swing Hardware with What Came With Your Cradle

Many parents successfully replace missing Jenny Lind cradle hooks with universal cradle swing hardware kits.

Go here to see what's available

These kits typically include:

Heavy-duty S-hooks or cradle hooks

Ceiling or stand attachment hardware

Hardware rated for infant use

When searching, use phrases like:

"Jenny Lind cradle swing hooks"

"baby cradle hanging hardware kit"

"replacement cradle hooks for wooden cradle"

Pay close attention to weight rating and hook opening size so it fits the cradle’s pre-drilled holes or eye bolts.

3. Check Specialty Baby Hardware & Vintage Parts Sellers

Because Jenny Lind cradles are considered classic or vintage, many replacement parts show up through:

Specialty baby-furniture parts shops

Vintage crib & cradle hardware sellers

Etsy sellers who reproduce cradle hooks or sell salvaged originals

If you go this route, I suggest messaging the seller with:

A photo of the cradle

The diameter of the hook opening needed

Whether it’s for a stand-mounted or ceiling-mounted cradle

4. What to Avoid

I don’t recommend using:

Decorative hardware hooks

Lightweight chain hooks

Hardware that isn’t clearly rated for cradle or infant use

Cradle hooks need to be designed to handle continuous motion and weight, not just static hanging.

If you’d like, you can tell me:

Whether your Jenny Lind cradle hangs from a stand or the ceiling

The brand name (if you have it)

Or share a photo or description of the missing hooks and I'll try to help you locate some possibilities to try.
