Best Dr. Seuss Baby Shower Ideas, Invitations and Party Supplies

I was recently asked about some free baby shower ideas for a Dr. Seuss baby shower theme. The possibilities for a wild color scheme and decorating with some of the funky critters off the pages of some of the Dr. Seuss storybooks intrigued me enough to come up with something unique to celebrate the birth of a soon to be fan of Dr. Seuss and his work.

The great thing about a Dr. Seuss baby shower is that there is so much free stuff online in addition to the inexpensive party items like favors and other supplies that you can use to make your party special for a very inexpensive price. Cut outs from coloring pages make nice place cards, you can easily bake the cake yourself and last time I checked, there were some free fonts floating around.

Many of these same ideas carry over into the baby’s room, and my Dr Seuss nursery inspiration shows how to extend the theme beyond the party into a coordinated space.

Buy some cute card stock and print an excerpt from one of the Dr. Seuss poems or some quotes along with pertinent baby shower information stating the time, place and theme of the shower. Emulate the style of wording that was utilized by the author and print the cards using one of the free Dr. Seuss fonts that you can find online.

BABY SHOWER CAKE AND MENU IDEAS for DR. SEUSS THEMES
I pulled most of my baby shower ideas from the title of my favorite Dr. Seuss book: Green Eggs and Ham. I wasn’t certain whether dying the filling for the deviled eggs green was a good idea, but I was determined to have an appropriately themed baby shower menu. Loosely following Dr. Seuss’ recipes, I came up with a menu that featured open faced ham sandwiches topped with colorful strips of pepper and green eggs. Even if the baby’s party is not scheduled close to Easter, you could dye boiled eggs a lovely shade of emerald or Kelly green, write the guest’s name on the eggshells and use them as part of the table decorations.
