Decorating Paisley and Adelyn's Yellow Paradise Nursery was truly a labor of love. We wanted a nursery that was very special for our girls that we worked so hard to conceive.

All of the items that we included in the design are sentimental and meaningful or pieces we poured our hearts into fixing up. We loved every minute of this journey.

Knowing that we had twins on the way, we knew we would need to fix up the nursery on a strict budget which was the perfect challenge for us!

We started by painting the walls a bold mustard yellow color and then we stumbled upon cheerful turquoise blue and white fabric that we got on sale that we used to make the curtains!

We scored the crib on craigslist for cheap and then cleaned it up and gave it a glossy coat of black paint!

The crib skirt and bumper pad were designed and sewn by yours truly out of mustard color fabric and paisley eyelet fabric that I love!

We also scored the black Lazy Boy recliner with crushed velvet black upholstery on craigslist for a bargain! Here's a tip; it pays to be patient and wait for the right deal!

The changing table was an ancient, rotting cabinet we pulled out of my Grandfathers barn. After we rebuilt/reinforced/repainted it, it's basically awesome!

All of the nursery shelves were built by my husband, including the fab floating wall shelves!

We used pink as an accent color to make the room feel feminine and beautiful! We fashioned it to be not-too-cutesy so it could grow with the girls. Yet we designed the color scheme to easily be converted to accommodate a possible future baby boy by simply losing the pink accessories and replacing them with navy or charcoal gray.
