I have a 25 - 30 year old Simmons crib to use for parts that someone may be interested in. I would like to give it away because it’s in mint condition and it would be a shame to just dump it in a landfill if someone, somewhere might be able to use it

I believe I am only missing 4 screws and some type S hooks that hold the spring in place for the mattress.

The only numbers on the crib are Simmons model
# 4738 94 241.

Any help getting this crib to someone that might need it would be great or I will have no choice but to junk it as I have no use for it and need the room.
Thanks!

Safety Issues
by: Anonymous

Important Safety Note for Cribs that are 25–30 Years Old

Cribs made before June 28, 2011 do not meet current U.S. safety standards.

This includes:

1. Drop-side cribs

Most pre-2000 Simmons cribs used drop-side hardware.
→ These are no longer considered safe and cannot legally be sold.

2. Old hardware systems

Older Simmons models used metal tracks, plastic teething rails, and peg systems that are now considered unsafe.

3. Mattress fit issues

Standards changed; older cribs may not meet the "no more than 2 fingers gap" rule.

4. Slat spacing

Modern cribs require slats no more than 2 3/8 inches apart — many older cribs exceed this.

There were several Simmons recalls between 1998–2007 for older drop-side designs.
