Cole's Vintage Travel Nursery Theme - Baby Boy Nursery in Chocolate Brown Blue Cream and Gold

The inspiration for Cole's room were the vintage airline posters that we found online with scenes from Chicago, San Francisco as well as Braniff.

The striped silk fabric of the custom baby bedding is gorgeous and features stripes of chocolate brown, ice blue, cream, and gold.

We then selected the fabric for the bedding, which we had custom made.

Baby Nursery Pictures

Our baby boy's nursery walls are painted a color called "Breezy" by Sherwin Williams. The custom built changing table has been decoupaged with maps.

To provide extra storage space, the top of the ottoman is hinged.

We created the side table by stacking a collection of vintage.

All of the other decorative accessories and artwork were selected to complement the look and feel in the Vintage Travel Nursery Theme and color scheme.

For lighting in the room we chose a gorgeous chocolate brown chandelier dripping with amber colored crystals that is not shown in the nursery pictures. The nursery chandelier really makes the room sparkle and adds that special finishing touches to the transportation nursery theme.

We made the decision to keep baby's gender a secret and we designed a unique nursery for either sex with the help of Peekaboo Design Group, a Dallas company.

My doctor sent them a confidential note letting the design company know the baby's gender and then the nursery was completed in secret behind closed doors. We didn't see it until we brought Cole home from the hospital.

This plan provided a wonderful way to keep the secret of our baby's gender a surprise without having to settle for a neutral design with less style.

From the webmaster:

What an interesting baby boy's nursery theme...and the colors are to die for! I can only imagine how lovely a panoramic view including the chandelier that you described would be. From what we see of your baby boy's nursery in the pictures; I'm sure that it's amazing.

Thanks so much for sharing Cole's Vintage Travel nursery theme with Unique Baby Gear Ideas. Your son's room is entirely too cute not to show it off!

Old Travel Posters
by: Geri

I have some old travel posters, actually old advertisements, that I can frame and use similar to the triptych that you have framed and hung on the wall behind the crib. Right now, they are just rolled up gathering dust in the top of our closet but I will be taking them to have them matted and framed tomorrow! Thanks for the idea.

Ceiling is Sherwin Williams "Breezy" too
by: Anonymous

Thanks!

The ceiling is actually painted the same color, but it is angled on that side of the room. The shadows made it look a different color, but it is really Sherwin Williams "Breezy" as well.

Ceiling Paint Color
by: Anonymous

Thanks so much for giving so many details on how to recreate this lovely nursery and you certainly have my vote!

You mention that the wall paint color is called "Breezy" but I notice at the very corner of the nursery picture that the ceiling is painted in a contrasting color. Would you happen to remember what the name of the paint is?
