The pictures that you see are of the shared baby nursery design that we created for our two year old toddler and our unborn baby due January, 1st,2010.

We chose not to be informed of the baby's gender so I had a bit of a decorating challenge on my hands, namely how to decorate a nursery for two when one might be of the opposite sex. For this reason, we didn't want the room to point toward one gender or the other or to be too busy.

Our two year old son's nursery was decorated in blue and brown. I loved that color combination and our goal was to find a similar winning combo for the new baby that we could easily blend without it looking crazy. To further complicate the decorative process, our place is a rental so we can't go overboard other than being allowed to paint. Plus, whatever we decided on we needed to do within the limits of a budget.

So one day on my nursery theme search I found this very cute organic bedding set called Willow by Kidsline. It was very affordable considering that it was organic cotton. It had our gender neutral colors in green and brown and a baby deer forest theme nursery would be fine for two baby boys or a boy and girl.

The wall paint color that we chose is called Light Lichen. There were some color recommendations on the page with the nursery bedding set so we got a sample and took it to Lowe's to get a color match. You may not be getting a true picture of our shared baby nursery design on your monitor so it may seem darker on the screen but in person it is a very soothing color.

I got my removable polka dot nursery wall stickers, the vinyl wall letters and words (we'll get the same for the new baby when we know it's name), the bookends (which are my son's initials), from Ebay.

I bought the nursery glider from my sister in law since it had Green in it. It came from Little Castle available at both Babies R us and Target.

The picture frames around the nursery wall wording came from Walmart, a set of 12 for $10.00. The dresser that you see in the shared baby nursery design picture was one that was also used for my 10 year old daughter's room when she was a baby. To dress it up, hubby refinished it, painted it white, and added new drawer pulls.

We don't have the nursery furniture for the new baby in place yet. So, I can't share pictures of the decorated baby's nursery, but I can tell you that we went with Child craft's Legacy line in the pecan finish. In the nursery furniture reviews, this collection got high ratings and when compared to other brands it seemed reasonably priced.

My in-laws bought the crib as a gift so we only had to buy the dresser/changing table combo.
All in all, I think we accomplished the look in our shared baby nursery design that we were going for which was a great room made with lots of love that our babies can share.
