Cat In The Hat Says Hello in our Baby's Nursery
Our SENSATIONAL Dr Seuss nursery ideas are based on the fact that my husband and I are huge Dr. Seuss fans and our dream was to design a Dr Seuss nursery theme in such a way that our new baby would be entertained by our favorite storybook characters everywhere he looked. After studying the illustrations and pictures from several Dr. Seuss books, we sketched scenes all over the walls of the room freehand that were inspired by the books. After the basic layout was in place, then we starting the painting process using one to two coats of acrylic craft paint in bright colors just like in the books. Finally we outlined all the scenes and added the finer details of our Dr Seuss nursery ideas. Now, when we step into the room, it is difficult to believe that we actually did all the artwork and that the unique mural design was our own creation! The only supplies that we used to create the wall murals were pencils, a big eraser (that we wore down to the nub) and a limited number of acrylic paint colors that we bought from the craft store. Pair the items we chose for our Dr Seuss nursery theme with some inexpensive paint, crafts supplies, time, patience and a whole lot of love and our baby boy's nursery theme is his own personal "Seussland"! We could have taken the quick and easy route by using vinyl Dr. Seuss wall decals rather than painting our own art but we preferred to paint our own unique designs that you see in the pictures of the nursery.
