Rock and Roll Nursery Theme

by Amanda M.
(Fortville, IN)

A general view of the room!

A general view of the room!

Our rock and roll nursery theme will be the background for lots of activity very soon. Our son is going to be an instant star the moment that he makes his debut in just two weeks! This inspiration for our rock and roll, punk-themed nursery was totally inspired by Amy Coe's line of rock and roll baby clothing.

It is completey custom from head to toe! I started with ordering custom bedding with a wonderful gal from Texas. We worked together via the internet for weeks before we came up with the perfect design for the sheets, bumper pad, curtains, valances and diaper stacker. It consists of guitars, stars, a couple of friendly and smiling skulls and bones and wings--totally rock and roll :)

We then picked up wallpaper border and based our grey paint color selection on the colors in the border; it is really quite soothing in there. I had a custom red rocker made with black piping and my sister helped us find the rug which compliments the theme perfectly.

The letters for his name are probably my favorite aspect of the room. We also spray painted wooden stars in all the colors (black, white, and red) and glued them around his name to highlight the wall.

We found a trunk on sale at a garage sale and spray painted it and added more stars and decals to tie into the rest of the rock and roll nursery theme and make it look as if it is a concert trunk.

Other great aspects of the room include the fridge we spray painted, put music note decals on and glued a record to. We also put decals on the windows and found really neat lamps that offer just enough soft light that are perfect for the 2am diaper changes. The drum and the "recording" and "applause" lights are great!

My goal for my baby boy's nursery theme was to make it a "transitional" room so that he can grow into it over the years.

From the Webmaster:
Amanda! Write me down as a charter member of the fanclub! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your rock and roll baby nursery design. I would be amazed if your son isn't channeling all the best guitar gods before he learns to walk! Great job, best wishes and don't forget to ask your friends and family to stop by to vote for your baby's rock and roll nursery.
