We started to plan our cheery Disney nursery when found out we were having a baby boy and from the very start we knew that we did NOT want the standard pale blue wall paint color. We both love Disney things and are both artists, so we decided instead of going with a pre-packaged Disney nursery theme, we would create our own.

I started by sketching a Disney mural consisting of Disney character silhouettes which my husband then drew on the slanted portion of the ceiling on two walls of the room.
We chose a pale green and a creamy yellow paint color for the baby's nursery walls and we used the green to paint in the characters. After, my husband surprised me with painting clear glow in the dark paint all around the mural that looks like twinkling stars and magic! This painting technique was such a fun addition to the room and one of the most original of our
baby boy nursery ideas.
I picked similar colored, but fairly plain, fabric to use in sewing the curtains as well as a crib skirt and a crib sheet. I also covered the the shade of a cheap lamp that I found in the same fabric and my hubby spray painted the base.
We picked some of our favorite Disney characters and sketched them out on pretty cream colored paper which we framed and put around the room to fill the artwork requirements in our cheery
Disney nursery along with some of our favorite Disney character stuffed animals.
Now our little guy just has to hurry and get here so he can see his room!
