I got a free baby memory book in a pretty gift basket put together by local merchants after every one of my babies was born. With my first baby girl, I made a note including the date and all the details surrounding every developmental milestone including pictures in most cases. With the rest of my girls following closely behind, I had a lot less time to document their accomplishments. Gone were the days when I took pictures of every smile and could easily find time to preserve a lock of hair from every haircut although I did manage to catch all the "firsts". Who would have ever dreamed that maintaining a scrapbook or journal to organize our memories takes so much time and money. Sadly, there have been more than a few times when both were in short supply in my house. All the more reason that I appreciate those free baby memory books that the local bookstore so thoughtfully sent to celebrate the birth of my daughters.
