Eclectic Orange Twin Nursery Ideas

Eclectic Orange Twin Nursery Twins Nursery in Orange Brown and Blue

The start of our eclectic orange twin nursery ideas was when we first converted our small home office into a nursery for twins.

Our twin boys' room was much in need of love. We were decorating on a tight budget so thankfully we had the help of our family in getting the job done.

To start, we ripped out the old carpeting, repaired the walls and added wooden bead board, base boards, chair railing, crown moulding and new molding around the nursery doors and windows.

I wanted orange nursery bedding but I could not find a crib set that I liked. I also knew that I wanted to consider my existing teak furniture. What I wanted to achieve with my orange twin nursery ideas was a twins beach nursery theme with a beach-like nursery color scheme and an Indian feel.

Since there were no baby bedding sets available that I liked, I found fabric and my mother-in-law made the bedding and curtains. We used contrasting orange fabrics with hints of brown and blue and it looks fantastic.

We painted the damaged wood floor with high gloss blue paint which makes a nice accent. We also painted a black bookcase in the same shade of blue. It is lovely in contrast to the brown and orange nursery bedding.

As I had hoped, my teak computer armoire was easily converted into a baby armoire. We also use my teak TV stand for additional storage and added the changing table on top.

The walls are painted in a neutral color that is subtle but gives the room a clean, fresh feel. We bought a chocolate brown rug with a contrasting color print that looks fantastic on the baby blue floor.

The rocking chair is yellow and as you can see from the picture there are no other yellow decorations anywhere else in the nursery, but the color pops very nicely.

From the webmaster:

Thanks for sharing your eclectic orange twin nursery ideas with us, Shannon! Your use contrasting colors is a reminder that we shouldn't be afraid to step out and do something bright and FUN in our babies' rooms.

Best wishes for winning our baby nursery pictures contest and remember to have your friends and family (even the ones that helped decorate are welcome!) to stop by and vote for your nursery pictures!
