Decorating the baby's nursery in a Winnie the Pooh theme seemed the best choice since we decided to make the baby's sex a surprise. To keep our secret, we needed something neutral. The thought of Winnie the Pooh came to us and we took it from there!

Choosing the Best Nursery Paint ColorWe picked the colors for the background from Disney's wall paint color line. We used a color called Bibiddi Bobbiddi Blue to paint the sky and Tinker Bell Green for the grassy parts of the wall mural.
Painting our Winnie the Pooh MuralAfter the background of the nursery mural was painted we hand sketched the storybook characters and painted them in a few coats. To make the project go quicker, we used fast-drying acrylic paint(s) to paint Pooh Bear and his friends from the 100 Acre Wood including Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet and Kanga and Baby Roo.
Furnishing our Classic Pooh NurseryThe nursery furniture that we chose is made by Simmons and was bought from Clossics in Delaware.
Custom Nursery Window TreatmentsSince our mural more or less set the tone for the room, we didn't feel it was necessary to buy
Winnie the Pooh Curtains and
pooh crib bedding. Instead, our lovely, neutral window treatments were custom made by a friend of ours. The fabrics that we used to make the curtains were imported from Hawaii and are made specifically for darkening the room.
How Long Did Decorating the Baby's Nursery in a Winnie the Pooh Theme Take?Getting everything painted, decorated and in place took less than you might think; it took us about 2 weeks.
Decorating the nursery isn't the hard part; the waiting is the hardest part! We are so anxious for the little one to get here!
