Even thought the Combi car seat is rather narrow in size, the stroller attachments on the sides extend far enough that it makes fitting another car seat alongside it difficult.
- It’s tricky to unlatch it from the base at times
- Deteriorated foam padding
One of the main things that parents seem to like in the Combi car seat is the thick, comfortable padding. Why some manufacturers skimp on padding in their infant car seats makes me wonder if they are taking advantage of the fact that when a baby is crying and miserable that they can’t tell mom or dad what’s bothering them.
For the sake of saving a few dollars on foam padding, they are losing out in the consumer reviews that I’ve been reading. However, there have been some complaints that all that luxurious, comfortable padding deteriorates. It’s expected that this happens to all cushions over time, but it has been written in the consumer reports that the pads were crumbling when their Combi car seat was delivered and that the first time their newborn rode in the seat that the dust got all over their baby.
Every infant safety seat will have its positives and negatives. With study of consumer reports and consideration of the features, you can make an informed decision on which is the best, high rated baby seat for your child.
