My Britax booster seat hasn't given me any reason to complain but a common complaint regarding most booster seats concerns a lack of head support. Apparently, the people who design Britax car seats are among the few who recognize that when children fall asleep their necks could use a little assistance in supporting their heads. How often have you looked in the rearview mirror at your sleeping child and feel like you needed to pull over at the very first rest stop to straighten them in their safety seat?
I have not felt the need to stop the car because my baby’s head was in an uncomfortable position but one time with The Britax Parkway. On this particular occasion, high rated Britax car seats nor could any other have prevented the position that my baby girl had gotten herself into. Somehow she had managed to droop forward in spite of the safety harness. The shoulder straps had loosened just enough that she seemed to be suspended by her shoulders. If the picture had not been so pitiful, it would have been perfect for one of those funny home video shows.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT MY BRITAX BOOSTER SEAT After reading lots of car seat reviews and attempted to make our decision primarily based on what we perceived to be the safest booster seat. Once we found one that we thought was safe, we shopped for one that had a reputation for being easy to use and comfortable for our babies to ride in. The Britax booster seat was the best baby car seat we found that fit all of our requirements. It didn’t hurt a bit that it was just cute as a button. The Britax Parkway booster seat with the pretty, pink Tiffany print car seat cover is just precious and by far the most stylish, trendy baby safety seat that we had seen.
The position of the harness feels right and seems secure and I like the way the wings around her head keep her from flopping sideways if she happens to nap in the car.
BRITAX BOOSTER SEAT Pros and Cons If I made a list of the pros and cons of this Britax Parkway booster seat, the review would have many more comments in the positive side of the consumer review, but there are a few negatives that I can mention even thought they don’t bug me that much. Surprisingly, as much as I’ve praised the head support on this cute Britax car seat the wings occasionally have presented a slight problem.
I have a habit of pointing out objects of interest to my children when we are traveling. In order for my daughter in the Britax booster seat to see things out of the side car window, she has to lean forward to peek around the wings. The incidents have been rare, but I couldn’t help but wonder if she was in a really dangerous position for a few seconds and worry that she could suffer real harm should we have a wreck at that precise moment. The thought of the results should an accident occur have put a cramp in our site seeing to some degree.
Overall, we have loved all of the Britax carseats that we’ve owned and the Britax Parkway is no different.
