Of all the nursery furniture that we buy the baby rocker may be the most memorable. After all, we will spend quite a bit of time bonding with baby while rocking away the cares of the world. The question at hand for baby's first rocker is which kind of nursery rocking chairs are the best? If you have an antique wooden rocker that matches an antique cradle or baby bed, then of course you will want to do what you can to put these heirlooms to good use as long as baby is safe and happy.
If you have not been fortunate enough to have an antique rocker that was left to you, then you will need to do some research and read some customer reviews on baby rockers and gliders. Nursery rockers like all baby nursery furniture comes in many different styles. My advice is to get a classic design that will work with as many different styles as possible. Chances are that you will want to change your bedroom many times before you are ready to your baby rocker in storage. A comfortable nursery glider is difficult to part with and is worth the effort it takes to perform an inexpensive makeover with some replacement cushions or new slip covers when the fabric is no longer stylish or just worn out.

My nursery rocking chairs have done double duty as television chairs, dining room chairs and served as an extra seat for my bridge club. While they may not have been the most stylish or modern piece of furniture, they served the purpose and made my guests feel right at home! Nobody wants a chair that sticks out like a sore thumb but looks are not everything.
