Quick and Easy Baby Quilt Kits for Baby Boys and Girls

Are you feeling creative and need a quick, easy baby quilt with no time to spare? Baby quilt kits might be the answer to your dilemma. Just because pregnant mothers and career minded grandmothers have full time jobs that leave a limited time for crafts and hand sewing shouldn’t mean they should give up on the idea of making cute, homemade items for baby.

Even quilt kits require some time and quilting experience. But the upside of making your baby quilt using a kit spares you from spending hours in the fabric stores puzzling over fat quarters and trying to figure out which flannel baby prints coordinate well with baby’s crib set and nursery decor. Not to mention that you will have to pick out and color coordinate four or five fabrics that will form the basics of your baby quilt’s pattern.

Precut baby quilt kits eliminate much of the frustration and time spent in the planning phase of the project. With a kit, you have the fun of choosing the theme of the crib bedding, the pattern according to your level of quilting expertise as well as the layout of the baby quilt fabric. There are dainty pink baby girl quilt kits and powder blue baby boy quilt kits as well as gender neutral kits with yellow ducks, baby chicks or pretty gender neutral green fabric patterns to pick from.

PATCHWORK OR NEEDLEPOINT
Some quilters enjoy patchwork quilt patterns with blocks that work up like magic in an afternoon. But some crafters prefer needlepoint or embroidered quilt tops that come in one piece that they can decorate with colored thread and elegant needlework with the decorative stitching creating the designs rather than a pieced top.

Plus, with proper care handmade crib quilts will last a lifetime and it makes me feel good to know that the little quilt that I made will be keeping infants warm for many years after I made the last stitch.
