BABY CLIP ART

To make your own baby shower or announcement cards, baby clip art sites are the places where most hostesses get started. Not only is FREE always a really cool thing (not exactly a Martha Stewart quote but close); it reduces the amount of work and money involved.

Kids who cut their teeth on computer generated artwork and know their way around pixels to say the least might laugh that anybody would be so out of touch that they don’t know the answer to that question. But, the truth of the matter is that I see the numbers of grandmothers and great-grandmothers just learning to use the computer increasing by a large number.
WHAT IS CLIP ART?
So, out of respect to crafters learning late in life, I will answer the question without as much as a smile or hint of condescension and I will skip the history lesson of how it came to be called clip art.

According to the Wikipedia definition, clip art is a pre-made image that can be used to illustrate any medium. In our case, this would be free baby clip art for baby shower invitations.

FREE BABY SHOWER CLIP ART RECOMMENDATIONS
You will naturally want your illustrations and pictures to work along with your baby shower theme. Here are some ideas:

A classic example would be simple baby blocks clip art with the ABCs on the front of each block stacked one on top of the other. You could tuck it into the top left hand corner of your invitation and position your wording towards the right hand margin of the card.
For a cowgirl or cowboy shower theme, baby cowboy clip art would be the ticket. Western style baby clip art could be anything from cowboy hats and boots to horses and cactus plants, so you will have no problem finding lots of possibilities on free baby clip art sites.
Baby monkey clip art, parrots or palm trees would be suitable for rainforest or jungle baby shower themes.
Diaper pins and baby rattle clip art are classics for both girls and boys. These are always best when there is no clear indication of theme and the colors can be adjust thru your software to pink, blue or green if a neutral color is needed
Pick out some baby animals clip art for farming or Noah’s Ark shower themes.
Baby angels would be perfect and very appropriate for a shower hosted by your friends at church.

Other pictures you might consider would be baby buggies, bottles or babies.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING AND USING YOUR OWN CLIP ART

The instructions for making your own free, baby clip art might come in handy if you can’t find what you need on any of the free clip art websites on the internet. Then again, you might find an image that you like that needs a little tweaking. It would be much more fun to know that your picture is not an exact copy of someone else’s artwork. If you master the art of altering existing image files, you will insure an exact match to the color, look and feel of your party’s decor.
